Professional Development

Professional Development Workshops

Several PD Workshops are available to Students, Teachers and Professionals across a wide range of topics.

Anne is available to come to your school and run workshops for Senior Visual Arts Students.

Workshops are also available for teachers to come as a group and get inside tips on teaching art to Primary schoolers ... guaraneed the most fun you will ever have at a PD session :)

Sample workshops below ... or we can work out one to suit the needs of your students or staff.

Primary Art Ideas

For teachers of Prep & Primary Students who wish to teach Visual Art more effectively and gain new ideas, this is an opportunity to gather with other teachers, try out various mediums and learn new techniques. You will leave with samples of your work, ideas for implementation into your curriculum and be given suggestions of how to integrate these ideas across other aspects of your teaching. Includes 2D, drawing, painting, print-making and some 3D ideas.

Primary Art Techniques

Primary teachers will enjoy this hands-on PD. You will experiment with materials, ideas and techniques to gain useful tips for teaching Art to all Primary levels.

Artists' Books

Participants will learn basic book-making skills and be shown several construction techniques and will be able to take home a collection of hand-made mini-books using a variety of styles and media. Learn how these little books are constructed and how they can be used for Artwork.

Take home 4 or 5 little books.

(Teachers can use these books across many curriculum areas to enhance learning and student presentation of information).

Art Journaling

Keeping a Journal of experimentations, explorations, ideas and progress is beneficial to all artists. Learn techniques to overcome the fear of those blank pages and spice up your thinking and Art-making processes.

This would be a great work-shop for Senior Visual Art Students in schools.

To arrange to attend a workshop at the ArtAbility Studio (come as a staff on a Pupil Free Day, maybe) or to organise one of these workshops at your school, please phone 07 4124 5104 or contact Anne at anneham@dodo.com.au.
